Botanicals Series – Cinchona Bark

$0.20 /g

Cinchona Bark is an intense bittering herb primarily used to produce tonics and bitter liqueurs. Quinine is the main compound found in cinchona, which was traditionally used as an antiseptic. Cinchona must be boiled, and blended with other aromatics and acidic alements to create a balanced tonic.

Every distillery has its secret mix of botanicals. Besides Juniper Berry, most Gins contain citrus botanicals such as lemon and bitter orange peel, anise, angelica root and seed, orris root, licorice root, cinnamon, cubeb, savoury, lime peel, grapefruit peel.
