Native Australian Aniseed Myrtle is an Australian Bushfood which unmistakably invokes the rich and heady aromas of soft licorice and molasses. The relatively uncommon anise myrtle plant grows in rainforests and has an aromatic profile similar to aniseed. Prized in gins showcasing Australian native flora, it pairs brilliantly with pepperberry, strawberry gum, and lemon myrtle.
Every distillery has its secret mix of botanicals. Besides Juniper Berry, most Gins contain citrus botanicals such as lemon and bitter orange peel, anise, angelica root and seed, orris root, licorice root, cinnamon, cubeb, savoury, lime peel, grapefruit peel.
