Botanicals Series – Organic Sloe Berries

In order to make Sloe Gin, these Sloe Berries should be left whole or crushed and left to macerate in gin within a large glass container for several months. Traditionally, sugar will be added to this preparation to speed up extraction.
Sloe berries contribute an earthy and stonefruit-like flavour, reminiscent of plums.
Every distillery has its secret mix of botanicals. Besides Juniper Berry, most Gins contain citrus botanicals such as lemon and bitter orange peel, anise, angelica root and seed, orris root, licorice root, cinnamon, cubeb, savoury, lime peel, grapefruit peel.
