Crystal Malt – Light (Floor Malted) (AMSAT)

Our light crystal brings light caramel and deeper crystalline sugar to both aroma and flavour. Best suited to bring depth to traditional ales and lagers, the sweetness is apparent but not cloying. Light Crystal can also provide a depth of character for Australian Pales and Golden Ales. A great malt overall, it’s a versatile team player in any grist bill.

We love to get some green malt into our roasters, and roasting is what we have been specialising in for 25 years now. Steeped and germinated, we push this process a little bit further to ensure our crystals are properly glassy. This results in our crystal malts being full of character and crystalline sweetness. 

It is worth nothing that Light Crystal has very low diastatic power, and needs to be paired with a good base malt.

USAGE RATE: It is best utilised up to 25% of the grist.
