Spindasol SB3 – Fining Agent

Spindasol SB3 is a purified colloidal solution of silicic acid (SiO2) designed for beer maturation formulated for the rapid sedimentation of yeast and other haze forming particles in beer.
The performance and application of Spindasol SB3 will be familiar to any brewer who has previously used Biofine Clear, however a lower required dosage rate of 5-10ml per 23L batch is required. The technical properties of Spindasol SB3 lead to a difference in performance compared to the ordinary silica sols that have been on the market up to now. Direct addition can be made to the aging tank/keg, however emphasis must be placed on good dispersion, i.e. multiple additions, cold temperatures and a good CO2 purge to minimize stratification. Spindasol will not negatively affect the taste or head retention of the beer.
Dosage Rate: 5 – 10ml per 23L batch. Optimal application rates should be determined by batch trials.
